Volkswagen service campaign. Audi, Seat, Škoda and Volkswagen cars manufactured with 1.8 litre turbo, V5, V6, W8 or 2.8 litre VR6 engines between 2001 and 2002 need service check because of ignition coil problems.
The failure of the ignition coil made by an external supplier can result in unsteady engine running. Apart from that, the driver is warned of occurrance of the problem by the engine warning lamp lighting up in the fascia-board.
In Hungary only 400 cars involved, because the 1.4 and 1.6 gasoline, and the 1.9 diesel engines are not on the list.
As far as Škoda production is concerned, the given problem can worldwide affect approximately 47,000 Octavia and Superb cars equipped with 1.8 Turbo petrol engines delivering 110 (or 132 respectively) kW manufactured in the model years 2001 and 2002.
9,000 cars have been involved in the Czech Republic.

This is this year's largest supply of equipment to the Hungarian Police.
